Call 911 I've Been Shot
Published in Paperback by Beginning II End Publishing Inc. (01 April, 2001)
Author: Steve Brown
Average review score:

Exuberant
I have never read a self-help book that was a full coarse meal. It has comedy, relationships, finances, self-esteem, famous quotes, and for desert the book gave us a fictional short story as an example of how bad habbits can be a slow spiraling process to self-destruction. THIS BOOK IS A MUST READ TITLE! Steve Brown I give you two thumbs up and I look foward to reading you next title.

Cambodia Confounds the Peacemakers, 1979-1998
Published in Hardcover by Cornell Univ Pr (April, 1999)
Authors: MacAlister Brown and Joseph Jermiah Zasloff
Average review score:

Most Up-to-Date Book on Cambodia and Cambodian Politics
This is the most up-to-date book on Cambodia and Cambodian politics and includes information on the controversial July 1998 elections. This is a must read for both students of Cambodia and long term Cambodia watchers.

Brown and Zasloff help the reader navigate the often turbulent and violent peace process in the 1980s, the U.N.-sponsored elections, the pre-coup period of 1994 to 1997, the July 1997 coup d'etat, and the July 1998 elections. Using a variety of sources, they present an objective account of modern Cambodian (and international) efforts at peace and current day politics.

Cancer Stick #94,912 and Other Poems

What a wonderful book
Most poetry these days doesn't usually speak to me, but I found myself strongly attracted to the poems in this book. The first half, titled "Names & Faces", gives a fascinating look at the people who inhabit Coke's world, his friends, his family, and people he just happened to run into. The second section, "Gray Matters", while not as strong as the first half, had more to say that directly related to my world, including such gems as "For a Minute in Late March I Was Free", and give me insight into worlds I may never have considered or knew existed. I recommend this book very much.

Cardinals Handbook: Stories, Stats and Stuff about Louisville Basketball

Author: Russ Brown
Average review score:

The best book for a dedicated CARDINAL FAN!!!!
If you want to know everything about the University of Louisville Cardinals basketball from 1912 until 1996 with DeJuan Wheat you have to get this book. If you are one of the better Cardinal fans, like me, you will want your family and friends to quiz you on the trivia questions or you can see if the cardinals break any records during this years and future years games, like they did recently against Morgan State. You can also look back at the national championships in 1980 and 1986 with pictures and everything. This is a GOTTA HAVE for the DIE-HARD CARDINAL FAN

Caribbean New Wave : Contemporary Short Stories
Published in Paperback by Heinemann (June, 1990)
Author: Stewart Brown
Average review score:

Contemporary storytellers from the Caribbean
"Caribbean New Wave: Contemporary Short Stories" brings together 23 tales, selected by Stewart Brown. The authors here represent a number of English-speaking Caribbean nations: Jamaica, Trinidad, Guyana, Belize, Antigua, and St. Lucia. These stories capture the linguistic, religious, racial, and political complexity of this region.

Some of the most memorable selections include the following: Opal Palmer Adisa's "Duppy Get Her," which makes use of local supernatural beliefs and vernacular language; Neil Bissoondath's "Insecurity," an ironic tale about the international economic intrigues of a Hindu businessman in the Caribbean; and Rooplall Monar's "Bahadur," a humorous tale written all in vernacular. But my favorite in the collection is Ian McDonald's "The Duel in Mercy Ward," a funny and moving tale about the relationship between two elderly men--one a Christian of black African heritage, the other a Hindu of Asian Indian ancestry--in a hospital ward.

The brief author biographies at the end of the book include some bibliographical resources for interested readers. Overall, "Caribbean New Wave" is a good book for those who are interested in exploring the fiction that has come out of the English-speaking Caribbean.

Absolutely adorable!
Carmine the Kitty is simply spectacular. Not only is Carmine the most adorable kitty in print, his story about napping entertains my 2 toddlers and even encourages them to take an afternoon nap. We have made reading "Carmine Takes a Nap" part of our daily routine. I only hope there are more Carmine books to follow.

Carmine Wants to Play
What an adorable story. I found this book to be very easy to read to a small child. The illustrations certainly conveyed the story and I am more than likely going to purchase other Carmine books. Ms. Brown lets the reader know how much she loves cats by her sweet prose and right-on descriptions of feline behavior.
